HISTORY & THE LOCAL AREA?
For the more historically minded, attractions include the City Walls Walk. It is 1800 years since the walls and gates were first built around the Roman town of Noviomagus Reginorum, and today they are the most intact circuit of Roman town defences in Southern England. More than 80% of the original structure has withstood the test of time and virtually the whole of the circuit is publicly accessible. The city walls trail has been created to help you explore the mile and a half route around the heart of the city. There are regular tours at Fishbourne as well as, City walking tours with qualified guides every week, tours of the Cathedral every day and a monthly walk around the Roman wall of Chichester on the 4th March. Get a rare peek inside Edes House on Monday 26th with a tour of the building. To give you a different perspective on the landscape there are regular boat trips on the Canal too. If you decide to go on a tour of Goodwood House which is open on the 4th and 5th March you can top it off with a cream tea.
Chichester boasts an amazing array of restaurants, cafes and eateries, with a wide range to suit most tastes and appetites- so please visit the ‘Eating Out’ page for more details.
So at the end of a day exploring, eating and drinking, you can relax and recover in the comfort of our rooms, and start the day with a fantastic freshly cooked breakfast!
