Access Statement for Musgrove House Bed and Breakfast

We welcome everyone to Musgrove House; due to the layout of the house we are unable to provide a downstairs bedroom or to accommodate guests who are unable to manage stairs.

Key Points

There are 5 steps into the house from the Oving Road which are approximately 80cm wide, 27cm deep and 15cm high.

There is good street lighting both at the front of the house on Oving Road, and also alongside the house on St James’ Road.

The ground floor is level throughout, and all bedrooms are on the first floor.

Guests are welcomed in the dining room, which is level throughout where they are asked to register.

The area is well lit with overhead lighting.

The staircase has 14 steps to the first floor, each step is approximately 76cm wide, 22cm High and 18cm deep.

There is a hand rail on the right hand side as you go up.

The first floor is level throughout.

The house is fully centrally heated throughout but temperatures can be adjusted in each room to suit individual requirements.

There are automatic audible smoke alarms in each bedroom, the upstairs hallway and guest dining room

There are ‘In Case of Fire’ instructions posted on the back of the guest room doors.

Bedroom Lights

The main room light in each room has a switch at the door and a remote control in the bedside table, and there are two separate reading lamps by each side of the bed and these are touch activated.
